Start, stop, skip a break, and restart the cycle from the main timer.

The timer shows the current phase (Flow, Short Break, or Long Break), the remaining time, and your place in the cycle. Start, Stop, Skip break, and Restart cycle are available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

Use Start to begin the current session. The timer counts down from the duration for that phase.

Use Stop to pause. Remaining time is kept. Use Start again to continue from where you left off.

With Flow Pro, you can give the current Flow a custom title. On iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro, choose Edit session name. On Mac, select the title above the timer. On Apple Watch, choose the pencil button.

Custom titles apply to Flows, not breaks. Leave the title empty to restore Flow. The title is saved with the session and appears in Statistics.

Flow Pro adds Previous and Next controls around the cycle progress indicator. On Apple Watch, they appear on either side of Start and Stop.

Use these controls to move to the preceding or following session in the current cycle. The selected session remains pending, so press Start when you are ready. Previous keeps you at the initial Flow when you are already at the beginning of a cycle. These controls are unavailable while Commitment Mode is enabled.

During a Short Break or Long Break, Skip break ends the break and starts the next Flow.

Restart cycle returns you to a pending Flow at the beginning of the cycle. The timer does not start on its own; use Start when you are ready.

This control is hidden when you are already at the start of a cycle.

When the timer reaches zero, Flow moves to the next phase. Whether that session starts on its own depends on Settings:

  • Start Breaks Automatically continues after a completed Flow
  • Start Flows Automatically continues after a completed break

If those settings are off, the next session stays pending until you press Start. See Settings.

If Commitment Mode is on, a running Flow cannot be stopped, skipped, or restarted until it finishes. This setting requires Flow Pro.
